What happens to finished work when a model goes away
Three entries say what becomes of finished work when a model goes. One deletes data associated with the product after a final export window. One application keeps renders already made, with a record of which tier produced each. One publisher's weights can be downloaded, so the model itself stays with whoever holds the copy. From 3 source pages, read 2026-09-12 to 2026-10-13; no maker pays to be listed.
| Entry | What is published | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| SceneMixer | Renders keep their pixels and the record of which tier made them | Versions kept; nothing regenerated or charged |
| Sora | Data associated with the product deleted after a final export window | Export first, then nothing |
| Wan-AI | Weights under Apache 2.0, with download commands on the model card | A copy of the model held by the user |
Inclusion rule. Entries whose pages say what becomes of output, stored data or the model itself when a model is withdrawn or a product ends. An entry silent on all three is not given a row. Order. Alphabetical by entry.
1Deletion, retention, or a copy of the engine
The three rows describe three different relationships with the work. Under the first the vendor holds the material and will stop holding it, so the deadline that matters is the export window. Under the second the vendor keeps finished renders through a model change and records which tier made each. Under the third nothing is held for the user at all; the weights are downloaded, and the model is as permanent as the user's own storage.
2A record of the tier is what makes a match possible later
Keeping a render is one thing; knowing what made it is another. Where each render carries the tier that produced it, a production picking a season up months later can tell which shots came from an engine that is no longer offered, and plan a reshoot or a match rather than discovering the difference in the edit.
The same guide states that nothing is regenerated on the customer's behalf, so a delivered season does not change look because a tier went away.
3What to do before anything ends
Whichever row applies, the delivered files are safest on storage the production controls. The one documented shutdown measured its export window in weeks, shared with everyone else in the same position. Downloading finished episodes as they are made costs nothing and removes the deadline from the plan.
- What happens to the workData associated with Sora is deleted after any final export window passes
- Sora API24 September 2026discontinued
- Finished work when a tier goesSheets and segments already made keep their pixels and their record of which tier made them; versions are kept, and nothing is regenerated or charged by a fallback
- Work in progress when a tier goesWhen a tier is withdrawn, text and image work falls back to the default tier and video to the tier the episode last used if it is still listed, otherwise the default; the price shown is the tier that will run
- Licence stated on the weightsApache 2.0
- How a copy is obtainedDownload commands for the weights are printed on the model card
