Inclusion rule. A state counts when the entry publishes the label itself. A marketing word such as new or classic is not a lifecycle state and does not fill a row. Order. What is named first, then what was never published.

1Dates beat vocabulary when you only get one

2Nothing preceded the announcement

There was no deprecated period, no legacy label and no reduced service. The product was fully available until a notice arrived with two dates on it, which is why the register's notice column records an interval rather than a policy.

That pattern is worth holding on to when reading entries with no state published. Silence before an announcement is the normal case, and it is not evidence that nothing is coming.

3Applying one word to two surfaces was the useful part

Separating the consumer product from the interface meant two audiences got different deadlines from the same sentence. That distinction is what allowed resellers to keep naming the model for months after the maker's own product closed.
