1Kept, recorded and not redone

The guide is specific on three points. Renders keep their pixels, so nothing already delivered changes. Each keeps a record of which tier made it, so a later reader can tell what produced it. And nothing is regenerated on the customer's behalf, so a withdrawn tier does not quietly replace finished work with something made by its successor.

That last point is the one a series depends on. A season is not silently re-rendered in a different look because the engine behind one tier went away.

2Mid-series is where this column matters

A season established under one model and continued under another reads as two productions. The guide's rule for video, the episode's last-used tier while it is listed and the default otherwise, keeps an episode on its engine for as long as that engine is offered and makes the moment it is not visible in the price on the button.

What it does not settle is warning. A tier can still go without notice, and the notice period reading for this entry records that as empty.

3What the naming does buy

It connects an announcement made by a maker to a line on a bill. When a maker publishes a date, a customer here can tell whether it applies to the tier they use, which is the link most entries break.

That is worth having and it is detection, not protection. The notice reading for this entry sets out why the two are not interchangeable.
