The price list names the starting tier: a specific model at a specific resolution. A project nobody configures runs on it, so a change there reaches more delivered work than a change to any selectable tier. 1The tier nobody chooses is where the work is

A selector is touched once and then forgotten. Whatever the product generates without being asked produces most of what gets delivered, which is why this column is kept apart from the menu on the entry page.

It follows that the starting line is the highest-exposure row in any entry. A change to a tier three people selected is a curiosity; a change to the starting one is a continuity event across a whole customer base.

2Naming converts a swap into an observation

Because the starting tier carries a model and a version, two dated readings of the same page settle whether it moved. That is the difference between a team that can explain a change in output and a team arguing about whether anything changed.

It also connects upward. When a maker publishes a date, a customer can tell whether it lands on the tier their untouched projects use, which is the link every entry with house tier names breaks.

3What the naming does not promise

No sentence says the starting tier stays, that the naming continues, or that a project already running keeps its engine. All three are absences and the third is the one that decides whether a season splits.

The register records them separately in notice period and stored work. Specificity in one column is not evidence about another.
