An older generation left on sale is not a successor

Inclusion rule. Read from the plan comparison and its footnote. A generation still selectable in the product but absent from the priced page does not fill a cell. Order. The absence first, then what the menu supplies instead.

1A second line on a price list is a fact about this month

Two generations listed together means nobody is forced forward the day a new model ships, and that is worth recording. It is a property of the current page rather than a commitment, and the same page reserves the right to change what it offers.

So the useful reading is narrow: as of the date this was read, an older line was purchasable. A production can use that; it cannot schedule a season around it.

2The clause and the menu point opposite ways

This entry publishes both the most reassuring arrangement in the column and the least reassuring sentence in the register. Read together they cancel: a foothold exists, and the seller has told you it may be removed.

3Half the succession question belongs to somebody else

The licensed rows on this plan table are made by other companies, and when one of them retires a version the decision arrives through a seller who has not said how it will pass the news on.

The register therefore keeps two readings for this entry: this one, about the house lines, and the entry page itself, where the licensed rows are listed. The house half has a foothold; the licensed half has whatever its maker publishes.
